Fertomid is utilized to promote ovulation (egg production), enhancing the likelihood of pregnancy for women facing difficulties in conceiving. It functions in a manner akin to estrogen, a female hormone responsible for the development and release of eggs in the ovaries. Typically, it is administered once a day for 5 days, beginning on the fifth day of the menstrual cycle. Women without regular menstrual cycles can start on any suitable day. Carefully adhere to the instructions on your prescription label and consult your doctor for clarification on any parts you do not comprehend. Take Fertomid strictly as directed, avoiding any deviations from your doctor's prescription.
Fertomid may lead to side effects. Notify your doctor if any of the following side effects are severe or persistent: flushing, nausea, vomiting, ovarian enlargement, headaches, irregular vaginal bleeding, or abdominal discomfort.
Before using Fertomid: Inform your doctor if you have an allergy to Fertomid or any other drugs. Share information about the medications you are currently taking. Let your doctor know if you have a history of abnormal vaginal bleeding, liver issues, uterine fibroids, pituitary tumors, adrenal disorders, or thyroid and ovarian cysts. Additionally, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you become pregnant while on Fertomid, contact your doctor immediately.
Fertomid may result in blurred vision. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you are aware of how this medication affects you.
Fertomid raises the likelihood of multiple pregnancies (twins, triplets, etc.). Discuss the risks of multiple pregnancies with your doctor.
